Doctors lauded for sacrificial efforts during Covid pandemic at National Doctors' Day celebration in Dr. Muthu's Hospital at Saravanampatti on July 1
Coimbatore: Commemorating National Doctors' Day which was celebrated across the country on July 1, Dr. Muthu's Hospital located at Saravanampatti in Coimbatore also felicitated doctors for their sacrificial efforts in combating the Covid pandemic.
Dr. Muthu Saravanakumar, President of Dr. Muthu's Hospital along with Arima Sangam District Governor Kuppusamy and Arima Sangam executives participated in the National Doctors' Day event. A total of 798 doctors died in the line of duty during the second wave of Covid-19 across India and hence a tribute was paid to the departed souls of the doctors at the start of the event. This was followed by presenting shawls and bouquets to doctors who treated Covid-19 patients at Dr. Muthu's Hospital and enabled almost 500 patients to recover completely.

Dr. Muthu Saravanan provided Rs. 1 lakh compensation to five families whose kin died due to Covid-19 and were being treated at the hospital. Rs.10,000 worth of groceries was donated to Saravanampatti Osanam Retirement Home by the Director of the Hospital, Selvakumar. The event was attended by more than 100 doctors from various departments as well as the families of Covid-19 victims.
