District SP Selva Nagarathnam donated bodycams to two-wheeler patrol officers at Coimbatore suburban police stations.
Coimbatore: Bodycams are being provided to vehicle patrol and patrol guards in Coimbatore district.
These cameras are being provided to the police to prevent drunks from getting into an argument with the police or to keep check on police if they intimidate the public.
The district police plans to provide bodycam to two-wheeler patrols in all 36 police stations in the Coimbatore district. In its first phase, District SP Selvanagarathnam handed over the cameras to two police patrols at 15 police stations. The patrolling police have advised the district police to use this as these cameras will record video footage accurately even at night.
This will enable it to video record various crime incidents and provide an opportunity for the police to treat the public with respect.

The first phase of the project will provide 15 cameras to all police stations in Coimbatore.
