Police inspect vehicles to control vehicular and pedestrian movement after 7 pm in Valparai


Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Government had imposed a complete lockdown across the State to control the second wave of Covid-19.

During the lockdown, banks, grocery shops, vegetable and ration shops, dairy, pharmacies and a few other shops were allowed to operate until 7 pm.

As per the orders of Valparai Police Inspector Maheshwari, Sub- Inspector Murugaiyya and other policemen wearing night light reflective shirts set up barricades and inspected vehicles in Valparai. They recorded the number plates of oncoming vehicles and sent back vehicles that had no valid reason to be on the roads, as well as fined those driving such vehicles. They also warned people who were roaming on the roads unnecessarily after 7 pm.
