Devastating fire blaze at coir factory near Kinathukkadavu destroys machinery and coir worth millions
Coimbatore: A raging fire broke out at a coir factory owned by Kathirvel in Muthugaundanur near Kinathukadavu in Coimbatore district, leaving machinery and coir worth millions completely destroyed in the blaze.
The fire reportedly broke out at the factory on Wednesday evening from a coir extractor, and spread like wildfire to coconut husks lying nearby. The fire was reported to the fire department and over 30 firefighters in three fire trucks from Kinathukadavu and Pollachi areas actively engaged in putting out the fire.


Since the fire continued to rage for about four hours, firefighters were asking for trucks for fetching water from nearby wells. The fire department is investigating the fire.
