As part of the celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the medical community at 3 pm on Thursday.
On the eve of National Doctors' Day, the Prime Minister took to social media platform Twitter and tweeted, "India is proud of the efforts of all doctors in fighting COVID-19. July 1 is marked as National Doctors' Day. At 3 pm tomorrow, I will address the doctors' community in a program organised by @IMAIndiaOrg.”
Meanwhile, a source from the Coimbatore chapter of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) confirmed that in the deadly pandemic, IMA had lost more than 1,500 of its eminent doctors. “The sacrifice for mankind has added its shade of remembrance to the Doctors' Day celebrations. Doctors' Day 2021 is dedicated to the innumerable medical practitioners who sacrificed their lives while serving the citizens of the country,” added the source.
