The Nilgiris: Minister of Forest K. Ramachadran presents welfare assistance to volunteers who buried bodies of Covid-19 victims in Nilgiris.

Forest Minister Ramachandran told reporters that stern action would be taken against those involved in smuggling and said 6 forest officials have been sacked for failing to monitor timber smuggling in the Nilgiris, Gudalur, and Lower Kotagiri forests.
Minister K. Ramachandran also said that the Nilgiris was the first district in India to vaccinate 100% of the 21,800 indigenous people in the Nilgiris.

The Minister of Forests of Tamil Nadu presented an award to those who volunteered by burying bodies of those who died due to coronavirus disease in Ooty.
