Gang arrested for gambling with money at home during Covid lockdown
Coimbatore: Coimbatore: The City Police received information that a gang of men were gambling in their homes during Covid lockdown in Coimbatore.
On the orders of Police Commissioner Deepak M, the Kattoor police raided a house on VKK Menon Road in Gandhipuram on Tuesday evening. Town Hall Sangili Durai (28), Selvapuram Radhakrishnan (49), Gandhipuram Subramanian (60), Telugupalayam Ganesan (54), Five Corner Dinesh (20) and VKK Menon Road Jambulingam (48) were arrested.
The men were reportedly gambling over a game of cards and Rs. 11,510 was confiscated. Balasundaram (65), Kovilmedu Ajith (46), Tirunelveli Rajkumar (46), Kempatty Colony Durairaj (44), Pappanaickenpalayam Rajkumar (46), Pallikoodam Street Rammohan (54), Tirupur Ismailpuram (45), Gandhipuram Subramani (55) and Ganapathi Prakash (41) were arrested. Rs. 34,610 rupees used for gambling in the game of cards was confiscated from them.
