Coimbatore: In an event organised by Karunya University, Minister of Forests Ramachandran distributed corona relief items and welfare assistance to 500 families in hill villages near Coimbatore.
A ceremony was held on behalf of Karunya University, Coimbatore to distribute corona relief items and welfare schemes to tribal villagers. Relief items were distributed to 500 tribal villagers at a ceremony presided over by Forest Minister Ramachandran.
Later, the Minister presented welfare schemes including sewing machines to tribal village women.
This was followed by the launch of the Corona Treatment Center with Oxygen Facility at Seesha Hospital.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Ramachandran said, “Vaccination is one of the most essential weapons during the corona pandemic. All tribal people in the Nilgiris district have been vaccinated. This is an example before the corona vaccine awareness. Steps will be taken to vaccinate everyone with the coronavirus vaccine. Various important projects brought so far in Tamil Nadu were brought under the DMK regime. If we list the plans brought by the parties that ruled Tamil Nadu, it is clear that only the DMK regime came up with and implemented the most important projects.
MK Stalin accepted the responsibility of Chief Minister when Tamil Nadu was in a very critical period. Since then, he has been tirelessly doing various corona prevention tasks. At present, the daily impact in Coimbatore district has been reduced to around five hundred. The Chief Minister who came to Coimbatore went directly to the Corona Treatment Center at ESI, conducted an inspection and set an example before other states in India”, he said.
Following this, the Minister inspected the Nandanthurai check dam. He spoke about the differences between the farmers on sediment extraction and said, "Alluvial soil should be taken and used by the farmers. Otherwise, the soil will be washed away by the rain water again and the soil will join the dam”, he said.
