Public demand to renovate dilapidated bus stops in Valparai
Coimbatore: In the Cinchona area next to Valparai in Coimbatore district, the Valparai municipality has built passenger bus stops in many places over the past 15 years.
Some bus stops from Cinchona to Chinnakallar have been renovated over the past few years. But the bus stops in Periyakallar, 5th Division and Ryan Division areas alone have not been renovated. They are currently in a very dilapidated condition.
Public has demanded renovation of these bus stops several times and no action has been taken till now.
The roof is very weak, especially the bus stop in the 5th Division area. During the rainy season rainwater comes in through the roof and at any time it is in a state collapsing increasing risk of casualties.
The people of the area have therefore demanded that the municipal administration immediately renovate the dilapidated shades.
