Kinathukadavu MLA promises vaccination camp after replenishment of stock

Coimbatore: As the district runs dry out of vaccine stocks very often, people in Solavampalayam, a rural village in Kinathukadavu say they have not seen any vaccination camps at their place so far.

Manikandan, an activist from Kinathukadavu says all the parts in Kinathukadavu have witnessed vaccine camps but not Solavampalayam, where the cases are increasing each day. Simplicity accessed a recent report of the positive case and found that as on 28.06.2021, the village recorded over 121 cases and seven new active cases.

Solavampalayam has the highest number of positive cases in Kinathukadavu region. However, the panchayat head Sinrasu said a petition has been raised with the District collector regarding the same. “The collector assured us to conduct vaccination camps soon” he said.

Kinathukadavu has 34 blocks and among that Solavampalayam alone has the highest number of population, where the case is also high. It has as many as 6,781 people, sources say pointing to the recent voter lists. When contacted, the MLA Damodharan said he had already spoken about the same to DDHS and District Collector and added the village will soon witness vaccination camp after the replenishment of stocks.

When asked why the particular village was left when the cases are alarming, the MLA replied that the camps are scheduled to happen everywhere and no part of his constitution will be left out without vaccination camps.
