Coimbatore: The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCIC), Coimbatore, on behalf of its members whole heartedly welcomes the announcement of Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, supporting the measures for the economy, including a 50% expansion in its emergency credit programme.

In a statement that was issued by C Balasubramanian, Coimbatore chamber President on behalf of the association, the ICCIC thanked the minister for the slew of new initiatives that the chamber believes will help revive all sectors, bringing them out of COVID pandemic crisis.

Of them is the loan guarantee scheme for COVID-affected sectors. The members of the Coimbatore chapter of the ICCIC are confident that this would help existing projects with 50% of the required amount for expansion. Allocation of 50,000 crore to the health sector is a welcome step, the statement conveyed. Besides mentioning that the ECLGS enlarged scheme will alleviate the physical stress in various industries, the statement also made a mention that through the new credit guarantee scheme small borrowers will be benefited to get loans up to Rs. 25 lakhs.

Moving the focus to the tourism sector, the statement pointed out that working capital loans for tourist guides and free tourist visas will certainly prove to be a revival scheme providing financial support to 11,000 registered tourist guides and issuing visas free of cost to 5 Lakh tourists will boost tourism.

On the extension of the job scheme up to 21 March 2022, Coimbatore chapter chamber members are optimistic that the respective scheme will help in the creation and restore of the loss of employment through EPFO.

In the statement, it was also conveyed that the subsidy for DAP and P&K fertilizers and more funds for food grains will help farmers in protecting them from the increased price of fertilizer.

The statement expressed that the extension of Pradhan Mantri Gareeb Kalyan Anna yojana (PMGKAY) up to November 2021 will ameliorate the hardships faced by the poor due to economic disruption caused by COVID 19 Pandemic. Schemes extensions are worth it, the statement added.

About the public health focused on pandemic care, the statement added that this new scheme that is focused on short term emergency preparedness with special emphasis on children and paediatric care will ensure availability of essential medicals and will take care of all medical benefits in the hospitals.

Coimbatore members of the ICCIC under the leadership of C Balasubramanian are positive that the above measures for various sectors which are aimed to prepare for a better tomorrow will enhance broad-band connectivity and the revival of all sectors.
