CAPA requests to issue covid-19 vaccination tokens door-to-door in all 100 Coimbatore wards
Coimbatore: Consumer Awareness and Protection Association requested Corporation Commissioner regarding vaccination in all five zones by issuing tokens to ward officials, in all wards of all five zones.
CAPA states that the public throng vaccination centers during early morning irrespective of age to get tokens for the vaccination for the particular day. Media reports in Coimbatore reveal daily that the public are not getting tokens properly even though they wait at the vaccination centers from 3am daily.
They also alleged, "We have seen videos in social media that women argue with the officials for not getting tokens to vaccinate. Every day print media carries the news of the public not getting tokens for vaccination daily in CCMC limits. It is suggested to distribute tokens meant for next day vaccination door to door to avoid disappointment to the public.
This door to door distribution should be done in all 100 wards of the corporation If the Residents Welfare Associations and Consumer Associations are prepared to take up the job of distributing tokens to the public door to door in the respective areas. We request The Commissioner of CCMC to entrust the work of issuing tokens to the public door to door through Residents Welfare Associations and Consumer Associations of that area in all five zones."
