Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore welcomes several relaxations announced by Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu


Coimbatore: In a statement issued by C Balasubramanian, President of The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Coimbatore on behalf of the organisation, the President welcomed and thanked the Chief Minister of the state for the several relaxations that were recently announced by him.

“Our chamber also thanks the Chief Minister for favourably considering our appeal on relaxations in keeping the shops open such as hardware, vessels, sales and service shops of vehicles, computer hardware, software appliances, electronic appliances spare parts shops, building construction materials from 9.00 am to 7.00 pm and this will certainly help these sectors to earn their livelihood and also for slow revival,” read the statement.

In the statement it was conveyed that the chamber welcomes the relaxation for functioning of export units with 100% workers and other private offices with 50% employees. “We welcome the relaxation in keeping the sweet stalls (take-away only) from 6.00 am to 9.00 pm. Thanks for considering our appeal,” added the statement.

The Chamber President has offered cooperation and support from the chamber in dealing with the pandemic and has assured that all precautionary measures will be implemented for controlling the spread of coronavirus. “Chamber will also create awareness among the people to strictly follow the guidelines of the government for controlling the spread of the virus.” said the statement.

Expressing concerns about the functioning of large textile showrooms, shopping malls and places of religious worship, chamber President on behalf of the chamber, in the statement expressed hope that the Tamil Nadu government will announce further relaxations once there is a drop in the number of covid cases.
