Public besiege Edapally Primary Health Centre alleging misconduct of staff in Nilgiris
The Nilgiris: More than a hundred members of the public today besieged the Edappally Primary Health Center in Edappally village near Coonoor in the Nilgiris district, claiming that the staff had been vaccinating their acquaintances and turned away others for four days stating the vaccines were out of stock.
Thousands of people live in various villages including Vandisolai, Bandumi, Arakambai in the vicinity of Edappally in the Nilgiris district. Most of them go for daily wage work and make a living.

The public yesterday staged a sit-in protest at the primary health center, claiming that the centre ran out of vaccines for the past four days and alleged that staff vaccinated their acquaintances first.
The public dispersed after it was assured in the presence of medical workers and Doctors that they will be provided tokens and given first preference while vaccinatingthe next day.
