The Transgender ID card is issued on the basis of medical examination in order to receive all types of welfare assistance to the third gender through the Department of Social Welfare.
Therefore, applications are welcome for a new identity card for third genders and a pension for unsupported third gender over 40 years. Third gender who do not have an identity card residing in the Coimbatore district should submit their application to the Social Welfare Extension Officer and Women Welfare Officer working in the concerned Regional Development Office along with Aadhar Card, Family Card, School College Transfer Certificate, any one of these documents and two photographs in order to get their identity card next month. Must be submitted by 5pm on the 7th.
Coimbatore District Collector GS Sameeran also said that transgender persons above 40 years of age should submit applications with documents to the District Social Welfare Office at the District Collector's Office to get pension.
