Municipality initiates work to clean up boathouse after requests by people of Valparai
Coimbatore: A boathouse has been set up on behalf of the municipality in Valparai, Coimbatore district. The river, which originates from the Puthuthottam, joins the Nadumalai River through the Kamaraj Nagar Gaggan Colony Children's Park.
The Kamaraj Nagar Gaggan Colony Children's Park around Valparai and all the wastewater collected in Valparai comes through this river. A barge has been built and a boathouse set up at the confluence of the Nadumalai River on Stanmore Road.

Due to this, all the waste in Valparai goes into this boat house. Wastewater and debris were collected causing an intense stench in the area. So the public residents passing through this area were greatly affected. More sewage debris was collected in the children’s park.

So the public had demanded the municipality to remove and clean up the wastewater in the boathouse. Following this, all the wastewater is being discharged and treated at the request of the public in Valparai.
