Coimbatore: A consultative meeting was held with the hotels, wedding halls, banquet halls and community center owners headed by Coimbatore Corporation Commissioner Raja Gopal Sunkara.
The lockdown order in Tamil Nadu is being implemented with various relaxations under the National Disaster Management Act as per the guidelines of the Central Government to prevent the coronavirus. The Corporation should be informed about the details of events such as weddings which will be registered in hotels, wedding halls, banquet halls, community centers and temples in the areas under the Corporation of Coimbatore. The Corporation Commissioner said everyone attending the wedding must wear a mask, disinfectant fluid must be kept at the entrance and everyone must be allowed after they wash their hands. He also asked the hall owners to instruct the event organizers on the same. He said hall owners should urge all attendees to sit with a social distancing during events.
He also added that with the details recorded on the website, corporation officials will conduct inspections at the relevant places to inspect if prevention measures such as wearing a mask, following social distancing and if only 50 persons are attending the event.
The consultative meeting was attended by City Health Officer Dr. Raja, Health Officer, Swachh Bharat Movement Thirumal, and owners of hotels, wedding halls, banquet halls and social welfare centers.
