Forest Dept. struggle to rescue wild gaur trapped in swamp at an estate in Valparai
Coimbatore: Valparai's Anaimalai Tiger Reserve in Coimbatore district is home to various widlife. In Valparai's Stanmore Estate, a wild gaur was reportedly trapped in the swamp, near the water tank in the Saravangadu area of this estate. The administration informed the Forest Department of the mishap and forest officials rushed to the spot to rescue the wild gaur with a rope.
It has been reported that the wild gaur was too weak to even stand up due to weakness and since dusk had fallen over the forest area, the forest officials had to return disappointed at not being able to rescue the wild gaur.
