Arima and FAIRA provide food to over 300 people everyday since the Coronavirus lockdown
Coimbatore: Arima and FAIRA, have been commended for providing food to about 300 people daily to Coimbatore District ESI Hospital staff, health workers, nurses, ambulance drivers and hospital relatives.
ESI is located at Singanallur, Coimbatore. Not only coronavirus patients but also thousands of civilians visit the hospital daily for various treatments. As the second wave of coronavirus spread rapidly last May, the Tamil Nadu government issued a complete lockdown to control the pandemic. The Coimbatore District Arima 324 B1 and FAIRA continues to provide food to about 300 people daily, including hospital cleaners, health workers, nurses, ambulance drivers and patients visiting the hospital and their relatives.
In addition, they are adopting and maintaining the 240-bed Coronavirus Treatment Center on the camp and hospital premises to provide free face masks and drinking water 24 hours a day for the safety of the public and nurses. Food distribution was held for the 46th consecutive day by the Arima Sangam of Coimbatore District under the leadership of Arima Senthilkumar.
Former District Tahsildhar and International Director Madan Gopal was the special guest at the event and distributed food parcels and drinking water bottles to the sanitary staff, hospital staff and the general public. Nehru Nagar Arima Sangam President Nehru Nagar Nandakumar, ESI Dean Dr. Raveendran, Hospital Deputy Superintendent Dr. Tamilselvan and many others including Arima Sangam's Nakkeeran, Mohanraj were present.
