Farmer ends life out of fear of contracting Covid-19 after kin get admitted at Pollachi Govt. Hospital for Covid-19 infection
Coimbatore: Muthuramalingam (50), a farmer hailing from Anaimalai Kumarapalayam ended his life by hanging himself, out of fear of contracting Covid-19.
Muthuramalingam's nephew who had visited his house a few days ago reportedly contracted Covid-19 suddenly and was admitted to the Pollachi Government Hospital for treatment. His mother had also been admitted to the Government Hospital for treatment and had symptoms of suffocation for the last two days. Muthuramalingam was reportedly heartbroken as everyone in the house had fallen ill and was admitted to the hospital.
Fearing that he too would become infected with Covid and frustrated by the turn of events, Muthuramalingam reportedly hung himself. Komangalam police have registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
