Special SI suspended for taking bribe to avoid filing case: SP Selva Nagarathnam orders
Coimbatore: Coimbatore District SP Selva Nagarathnam has suspended a special sub-inspector who took bribe to avoid filing a case.
Negamam police have received information that a gang was involved in gambling with money in the Mettuvavi area near Negamam, Pollachi, in Coimbatore district. The Special SI who went there, Yesubalan confirmed that gambling was going on.
He received Rs 7,000 from those involved in gambling to avoid being prosecuted. The matter was reported to the SP. SP questioned Negamam Inspector Vetrivel Rajan and when it was confirmed Yesubalan received money. SP Selva Nagarathnam then ordered the suspension of Yesubalan
