College student ends life in Coimbatore; Youth arrested for threatening to post pornographic pictures online
Coimbatore: A city college student fell prey to a youth predator who befriended the student on the pretext of being in love with her.
He reportedly intimidated the girl by extorting jewellery and money from her. When the girl realised that the youth was lying to her, she stopped talking to him. Thereon, the youth threatened to post photographs of them together online. The 19-year old female student is from Singanallur, Coimbatore and was studying at a private college, while the youth has been identified as Keshav Kumar (24).
Keshav who reportedly not only extorted jewellery and money from the student, also flew into a rage when she stopped giving him money. He threatened to also publish pornographic pictures of them. The youth's mother was also allegedly involved in the extortion, following which the female student resorted to committing suicide.
The investigation by the Singanallur police led to Keshav Kumar and his mother Mangaiyakarasi (46) being arrested on Monday night for allegedly torturing the girl, which ended in her committing suicide.
