Public administered Covid vaccines based on voters list in Tirupur
Coimbatore: With high casualties resulting from the second wave of Covid-19, there has been a growing awareness among the general public about the need for vaccination against Covid-19 as a solution to overcome the pandemic. In Tirupur district, there was a shortage of vaccine since crowds thronged the centers. Hence, to avoid inconveniences such as long queues and shortage of vaccine stock, the district administration made plans to vaccinate the public in polling stations.
Based on this, tokens were distributed to the public at the respective polling stations and arrangements were made to ensure that only the voters at that particular polling station on the stipulated date would be administered the vaccine against Covid-19. The public were advised not to overcrowd the polling stations.
Accordingly, vaccinations were administered on Tuesday at various polling stations based on the voter list. The District Collector, Vineeth has also ordered the appointment of a Revenue Officer for each vaccination center along with Health Department officials to monitor the proceedings.
