CITU Union petitions District Collector to upgrade the Valparai Government Hospital
Coimbatore: The Valparai area of Coimbatore district has a population of about one lakh. There is a 100 year old government hospital in Valparai for their medical needs.
The hospital has no emergency facilities and patients are being sent to Pollachi and Coimbatore for further treatment. A three- or four-hour journey down the hills are causing many casualties.
With this in mind, the Coimbatore District Plantation Workers' and Officers' Union, tole the District Collector KS Sameeran who arrived in Valparai today that a long-pending request of Patients' Welfare Association should be set up at the Valparai Government Hospital and X-ray, scan, blood banks must be made available immediately. (CITU. Trade Union) Secretary Paramasivam has submitted a petition to the District Collector regarding the requests. The district collector who received the petition has promised to take immediate action
