Coimbatore: Locals have demanded the maintenance of the Valparai municipality children's playground which is in a state of disrepair.
Coimbatore: Public in Valparai have demanded for the maintenance of the Valparai municipality children's playground which is in a state of disrepair. The football stadium near the children's park in Valparai has hosted many sports events over the past years. Over the past few months, maintenance work such as fencing and levelling of football ground had been carried out by the municipality at the request of the Valparai Football Association. Thereafter, football training for the young boys commenced on the field.
Due to heavy rains lashing Valparai for the past one week, the sewer across the ground was reportedly blocked and sewage overflowed onto the ground. The playground has also been completely damaged due to movement of vehicles such as lorries, vans, autos and cars inside the stadium. The public has demanded that the municipal administration remove the block in the sewer and also to prevent vehicles from entering the grounds.
