Overcrowding at Covid-19 vaccination centers in Pollachi increases risk of infection
Coimbatore: Vaccination centers to combat further spread of Covid-19 infection have been set up in Pollachi Nagar, South Union, North Union, Government Hospital and in areas that include Anaimalai Primary Health Centers. Vaccinations are being administered to almost 100 to 200 people per day, here. Of these, 200 were vaccinated in Pollachi, 400 in the North Union, 100 in the South Union and 950 in Anaimalai. Vaccination centers in Pollachi Puravipalayam and Pollachi Kamatchi Nagar were among the other places where public gathered for vaccination.
There are complaints that despite the operation of vaccination centers in Pollachi urban and rural areas, due to lack of proper announcements, a large number of people have been overcrowding some centers and thus putting people to the risk of contracting Covid-19. Public and social activists have therefore demanded that health and revenue officials provide proper notices to vaccination centers.
