Venkateshwaran (36) hails from Aroor area of Salem district and has been living with his wife Shenbagavally (28), children Mitran (10) and Prasanna (6) in Palavanchipalayam Sivashakthi Nagar area of Tirupur district for the last 15 years.
As school children spend more time on TV, cell phones and games due to the school holidays enforced because of the epidemic, it is said that for the past few months, school children living in Shiv Sakthi Nagar area have been hanging out together by tying a saree on a tree near their house. Mithran has also been playing there. He has also been swinging in a sari outside his house. As usual yesterdayMitran is said to have played around the swing.
In this case, the boy unexpectedly wrapped the saree around his neck. As a result, they were pushed to the point where they could not come out of the grip of the saree and could not be seen. Venkateshwaran was shocked to see the boy hanging around the sari with no movement when he came out as there was no noise for a long time.
Mithran was taken to a nearby private hospital for treatment. But doctors who examined Mithra said he was brought dead. Veerapandi police who arrived at the scene later registered a case and are conducting an investigation.
