Youth who tried to marry a minor girl near Pollachi arrested under Posco Act ..!
Coimbatore: A youth has been arrested for trying to marry a minor village girl near Pollachi.
Manoj (23) is a laborer from Akilandapuram, Singanallur near Pollachi. He used to go to visit a friend in a village near Pollachi. He then got acquainted with a 17-year-old girl who had just finished 10th grade and lived near a friend's house.
In this case, the girl's parents lodged a complaint with the taluka police on the 16th, claiming that the girl was missing. Police are investigating the complaint. When Manoj checked his mobile number, it was revealed that he was in Singanallur.
Also, it was revealed that Manoj tried to marry the girl by luring her with desirous talk. Following this, Manoj was arrested bypolice under the Posco Act.
