Left-wing parties to hold a three-day protests condemning central government to withdraw sharp rise in petrol and diesel prices
Coimbatore: The state committee of the Left parties and the Viduthalai Siruthaigal have condemned the anti-people move of BJP-led Indian government and demanded that the state government pay the GST arrears, withdraw deliberate hike in petrol and diesel prices, the sharp rise in food prices and allocate the required vaccines to Tamil Nadu.
This was followed by a joint meeting of left-wing party executives and VCK executives in the Coimbatore district on Friday at the CPIM district committee office.
The meeting was chaired by CPI District Secretary VS Sundaram, Coimbatore District Secretary of the Marxist Party V. Ramamurthy, State Committee Member C. Padmanabhan, District Executive Committee Members S. Karuppaiya, K. Manokaran, K. Ajaykumar, CBI State Treasurer M. Arumugam and administrators of the Sivasamy Viduthalai Siruthaigal Party. District Administrators including District Secretary Joe Literary CPI (ML) K. Balasubramanian participated. It has been decided to hold protests at 30 centers in Coimbatore district on the coming 28th, 29th and 30th.
On the 28th protests will be held in Valparai, Anaimalai, Kottur, Pollachi, Kinathukadavu, Malumichampatti, Madukkarai, Thondamuthur. Periyanaickenpalayam, Karamadai, Mettupalayam, Annur, SS Kulam, Sulur, Chinniyampalayam, Karumathampatti and Sultanpet,
On 29th protests will be held in Kuniyamuthur, Thudiyalur, Sivanandapuram, Ondipudur, Avarampalayam, Puliyakulam, Siddhapudur, Gandhi Park, PN Pudur, Ratnapuri and Ganapathy. On June 30in front of the Central Post Office near the Coimbatore District Collectorate. They have called on workers to mobilize in protest against the central government by following the Covid-19 prevention measures and to make the protest a success.
