Kavundampalayam flyover works intensified in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Coimbatore - Mettupalayam road construction work in the Kavundampalayam area is in full swing. A National Highways official said the flyover would be completed and brought into public use within three months.
Work is underway to construct a flyover with about 29 pillars. It is about a thousand meters long from the housing unit to the Ramasamy Kalyana Mandapam at the Kavundampalayam junction on the Coimbatore-Mettupalayam road. Similarly work is underway to build a 670-meter-long flyover with about 15 pillars at the GN Mills junction. These works began two years ago.

Meanwhile, flyover work has been underway for the past few months during the recession. Due to this, the Coimbatore-Mettupalayam road was congested from morning till eveningcausing inconvenience to motorists who suffered the most. Now the work has been intensified to complete the construction.
An official of the National Highways Department said, "All steps are being taken to expedite the work on the Kavundampalayam area. Within 3 months, all the work will be completed and will be open to the public. "
