New bride commits suicide by consuming cow dung powder just three days after her marriage near Negamam; Police are investigating
Coimbatore: Karuppasamy (30) a labourer from Dasanaickenpatti, next to Palani in Dindigul district had married Amutha from Dindigul five years ago and has a 4-year old daughter.
Karuppusamy and Amutha seperated four years ago due to a disagreement, after which Amutha has been living in her mother's house in Dindigul.
Karuppusamy had visited his relative's house in Jakkarpalayam near Negamam, 25 days ago. He got acquainted with a relative named Amsaveni (24) from the same area. On the 14th, Karuppusamy and Amsaveni married at a temple in Pethappampatti. Amsaveni's parents had asked Karuppusamy to obtain his divorce from his first wife Amutha for which Karuppusamy went to Amutha's mother's house to get her signature.
Amsaveni who was reportedly heartbroken at the turn of events consumed dung powder while no one was at home on Thursday. People in the neighbourhood reportedly rushed her to Pollachi Government Hospital but Amsaveni died on the way. Negamam police have registered a case and are investigating.
