Two arrested for selling liquor bottles in Pollachi: 300 bottles of liquor and 2 cars confiscated
Coimbatore: Due to the lockdown in Tamil Nadu, Tasmac stores have not been opened yet due to the high number of cases in Coimbatore district.
Police received information that large quantities of liquor were being smuggled from the neighboring districts of Tirupur and Dindigul to Pollachi and Kerala.
Following this, during a vehicle inspection conducted by the Prohibition Police near the Pollachi CTC Colony, it was revealed that Balaji, a native of Palakkad, Kerala, had smuggled bottles of liquor in his car.
Police confiscated 237 bottles of liquor and a car from him, and charged and arrested him.
Similarly, during a vehicle inspection conducted by the police in the Aliyar area near Pollachi, the police seized 67 bottles of liquor and the car used for the smuggling and arrested Vasanth.
