3 more diagnosed with black fungal infection in Coimbatore



Coimbatore: Even as Covid-19 cases peaked in Coimbatore and is now gradually declining, black fungus cases are beginning to rise in the city.

Doctors say the black fungus infection is generally seen in patients who had suffered severely due to Covid-19 infection.

As many as 126 people were infected with black fungus in the district until Tuesday and with three more people infected with the black fungus on Wednesday, the total number of black fungus cases in the district stands at 129. It is to be noted that upto 33 of these infected people have recovered and returned home.
