Heavy flow of water in Kovai Kutralam due to heavy rains in Coimbatore district
Coimbatore: The Meteorological Department has forecast heavy rains in Coimbatore, Tirupur, Nilgiris and other districts along the Western Ghats in Tamil Nadu due to the intensification of the southwest monsoon in Kerala.
The sky was overcast in Coimbatore for the last two days with light showers and heavy showers in some parts of the district during the night. Heavy rains lashed the Western Ghats and the catchment areas of Coimbatore district. Owing to this, the Kovai Kutralam Falls, a renowned eco-tourist destination in Coimbatore district has been in full flow.

Due to this, farmers are overjoyed that the water level in Siruvani is increasing due to the continuous heavy rains in all the Siruvani catchment areas which is the main source of drinking water in Coimbatore. The Coimbatore district has witnessed more than sufficient rainfall over the last two days, both in the city and suburban areas.
