If DMK is a secular government, the government should take over the places of mosques and churches: Hindu Munnani state president Kadeswara Subramaniam in Tirupur

Tirupur: Kadeswara Subramaniam, state president of the Hindu Munnani, told reporters today at the BJP Public Service Center in Karthankadu, Tirupur, that the DMK government was functioning well during the Coronavirus period.

If it does well, it will be welcomed by the Hindu Munnani. They also welcomed the announcement of the Minister of Treasury to declare the property belonging to the temple with transparency and said the names of the encroachers must also be made public.

He said announcements on archanai in Tamil and all castes can become priests is welcome but insisted that proceedings must be in accordance with the Agama rules of the temples. He said that if the DMK government is a secular government, the government should take over the places of mosques and churches and order them to worship in Tamil.

The recent announcement by the DMK government about democratising the priesthood in Hindu temples under HR&CE has caught Hindu organisations and political parties alike in the glare.
