Coimbatore: The number of isolated persons due to coronavirus in Coimbatore district has come down to less than 10 thousand.
The second wave was at its peak in Coimbatore district last month and over 4,500 people were affected daily. Government and private hospitals were filled with increasing number of patients day by day.
Following this, steps were taken to isolate those who were affected without any symptoms at home. Accordingly, 27 thousand people who were isolated in their homes last month were given medical advice online. Currently the number of isolated individuals in their own houses is also declining as the daily number of cases decreases. Currently this number has dropped to less than 10000. The number of isolated areas in rural Coimbatore is also declining and has come down to 169.
There were more than 70 isolated areas in the Madukkarai area last month. It is currently down to 22. Similarly the number of isolated areas in Sulur is 19, Thudiyalur 36, Karamadai 31, Pollachi 11, Anaimalai 3, Thondamuthur 4 and Annur 8.
