Dr. S Vineeth takes charge as new District Collector in Tirupur; Promises to source more vaccines for city
Tirupur: The Tirupur district which was established on February 22, 2009 had C Samayamoorthy as its very first District Collector.
Thereon, M Mathivanan, G Govindaraj, S Jayandhi and Dr. K S Palanisamy served as District Collectors. Dr. K Vijayakarthikeyan was the District Collector in Tirupur since September 29, 2019.
Dr. Vineeth, Co-Managing Director, Power Generation and Series Organization has been currently appointed as the seventh Collector of Tirupur district. Dr. Veenith (38), is a native of Kerala and trained at the Kerala Civil Service Academy, and was ranked 36th in India in the IAS examination (2013 batch). He has been working as a District Collector in Dindigul district since 2017.
Dr. Vineeth is known for choosing to be treated at the Palani Government Hospital without seeking a private hospital when he was in need of medical treatment. Addressing the media, Dr.Vineeth said, "In the first phase, works will be intensified for Coronavirus prevention activities. We are also in consultation with the authorities today about various Coronavirus prevention measures and will try to get more vaccines for Tirupur to make vaccines available to the public without delay. Currently, the Covid impact in the district is on the decline but the Covid-19 tests are being taken in large numbers."
