"Chief Minister will take action to control prices of essential commodities in Tamil Nadu:" Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, R Sakkarapani
Coimbatore: The second phase of distributing Rs. 2000 and 14 types of grocery items to family card holders at ration shops in Pollachi was underway in full swing on Tuesday.
The Minister for Food and Civil Supplies, R Sakkarapani attended the event and distributed the Covid-19 relief items to the public.
Later, while addressing the media, R Sakkarapani said that the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has urged the Central Government to protect the people of Tamil Nadu from the onslaught of Covid-19 and to take adequate steps to get more vaccines for the state.
"Coimbatore district has the highest number of vaccinations after Chennai. The Minister for Industry has held talks with cement manufacturers to curb rising prices of construction materials. Similarly, the Chief Minister would take appropriate action to control the rise in prices of all commodities. Work has started on distribution of goods to 10,31,142 family card holders in Coimbatore district and tokens will be issued on a daily basis and goods will be distributed on the basis of which the public can follow social distancing and receive goods at any time till the end of next month," revealed the Minister."
