Baby shower for 80 pregnant women in Chikkarampalayam panchayat on a count for four women each day
Coimbatore: Baby shower was held for 80 pregnant women in Chikkararampalayam panchayat near Mettupalayam. Coronavirus infection has been on the rise in Coimbatore district for the last one and a half months.
The first lockdown has been implemented in Tamil Nadu since May 7. As a result, people from all walks of life are made to stay inside their homes, unable to go to work. As a result, people are suffering from a major economic crisis.

Gnanasekaran, the leader of the Chikkarampalayam panchayat of the Karamadai panchayat union near Mettupalayam, has been providing various assistance to the people in the panchayat. As a part of this in Kannapalayam Government School he has started a baby shower program for 80 pregnant women below the poverty line in the panchayat today.

As a first step, a baby shower program is being conducted for 4 women daily. The event was attended by members of the panchayat and relatives of pregnant women. Panchayat leader Gnanasekaran said that people from all walks of life have lost their jobs due to the coronavirus lockdown. There are some poor women who are pregnant in the panchayat and this program was carried out to please them amidst the crisis situation.
