Rs 70 lakh oxygen production center opens at Tirupur Government Hospital Medical College


Tirupur: Information Minister Saminathan has inaugurated an oxygen generation facility at Tirupur District General Hospital Medical College at an estimated cost of Rs 70 lakh with the help of volunteers.

In Tirupur district, the number of people in need of oxygen facility was increasing as the number of coronavirus victims was increasing day by day.

The number of infections has been declining in the last few days as the district administration and volunteers have made various efforts to this end.



Young Indians and CII had set up a 350 litre medical oxygen generation facility at Tirupur District Government Hospital Medical College at an estimated cost of Rs 70 lakh.

It was inaugurated today by Information Minister Saminathan and dedicated for use. He later told reporters, “The number of infections in Tamil Nadu is declining due to the Chief Minister's preventive measures.

In Tirupur district, the number of infected people has come down from over 2000 to less than 800 now. This is possible only with the help of volunteers. Despite the curfew order, the public must cooperate fully, ”he said.

Adithravidar Welfare Minister Kayalvizhi Selvaraj, Member of the Legislative Assembly, District Collector and Health officials were also present on the occasion.
