Risk of Covid-19 spreading as people crowd and not follow social distancing in meat shops in Pollachi
Coimbatore: In Tamil Nadu, a complete lockdown with relaxation is in place to control the spread of coronavirus. In the interest of the public, the Tamil Nadu government has ordered the opening of shops selling essential commodities as well as meat.
All meat shops including fish stalls have been opened in Pollachi area.
Social distancing is not followed and lines are not set up in any shop following the guidelines laid down by the government. Thus, there is a risk of spreading the disease as the public stands crowded to buy meat. A committee has been set up on behalf of the revenue department to monitor shops that do not follow the social distancing.
The public has accused the group of not inspecting properly. Social activists have urged as the spread of coronavirus in Coimbatore district is declining, the government should monitor such activities.
