Works intensified to eradicate mosquitoes in Valparai municipality
Coimbatore: There are 21 wards in Valparai municipality of Coimbatore district. It has been raining and sunny in the Valparai area for the last few days.
Due to this, waste water is stagnant in many parts of the city causing high mosquito production. Mosquitoes also breed in vegetable waste in the New Market area in the city center increasing the mosquito infestation in Valparai. The public has demanded that the municipality carry out mosquito repellents to control mosquitoes in the Valparai area.

Yesterday, on behalf of the Municipality Health Department, municipal employees are actively involved in spraying mosquito repellent at various places including Valparai Puthu market, Nagaikadai Street, Main Road, Co-Operating Colony, Nadumalai Road, Anna Nagar and Gaggan Colony. The Municipality health department said that mosquito repellent will also be used in tea plantations.
