Coronavirus patients no longer need to wait for treatment: Special Officer Gayathri
Coimbatore: Special Officer Gayathri said, coronavirus patients no longer have to wait in hospitals for treatment. Special IAS officers have been appointed on behalf of the government to curb the spread of coronavirus infection in Coimbatore and monitor whether it is being treated properly.
Regarding disease control, Officer Gayatri said, 'I have been inspecting Coimbatore Government Hospital, ESI, Hospital, CODISSIA, Government Arts College Coronavirus Treatment Center. It is only when a sudden 'visit' hits, without warning, that the true situation can be known. At the Coimbatore Government Hospital, we examined whether the doctors and nurses were coming to work on time and are treating patients properly. As a minor change, the chief physician is instructed to oversee the work once every five days. At ESI, garbage was disposed of on the hospital premises. RO, drinking water facility has been established for the patients. 'Zero Delay Ward has also been set-up. In this way, patients who come in need of emergency treatment will be treated immediately without waiting. No longer can any patients be seen waiting for treatment in ambulances.The quality of the food was also examined. Steps have been taken to provide food to the patients who are admitted at night.'
