Nilgiris Additional SP, suspended due to sexual harassment accusation: Ordered to stay in district.
Coimbatore: The Nilgiris Additional SP has been suspended for sexually assaulting female police working with him. Charles, Additional SP, Nilgiris District Prohibition Enforcement Division had earlier worked in the Crime Prevention Division against Women and Children in Erode district. The woman, who was working in the police department at the time, allegedly was sexually assaulted. The victim lodged a complaint in this regard and based on this complaint, Additional Principal Secretary Prabhakar ordered the suspension of Charles, who is currently the Additional SP of the Nilgiris district.
The suspension order was issued yesterday by the Nilgiris SP, through the Coimbatore DIG. In addition, the additional SP will have to stay in the Nilgiris district. The order also states that one should not go anywhere else without the permission of the government. Additional SP Charles, who has been suspended has worked in places including Coimbatore, Pollachi, Bhavani.
