Youth who extorted money by claiming to marry a woman ordered to appear in court in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: A man in Coimbatore has been ordered by a court to appear in court after he allegedly defrauded jewellery from a woman claiming to marry her who had lost her husband. The man then cheated on the woman who lost her husband, was granted conditional bail and ordered to appear in the lower court. Vignesh, 21, of Kovilpalayam near Coimbatore, was married and he got into a relationship with a widow who had a six-year-old daughter. He claimed to marry the woman and sexually assaulted her.
He bought jewelry worth Rs 3.5 lakh from her and cheated on her without marrying her. Based on a complaint, Kovilpalayam police arrested and jailed Vignesh on April 18. He filed a petition in court seeking release on bail. The District Sessions Court, which released him on conditional bail, ordered him to appear in court on JM: 2, along with two witnesses after the lockdown was relaxed.
