Coimbatore Chenni Andavar temple property must be recovered: Application to special team of Chief Minister

Coimbatore: The Chenni Andavar Temple is located in the Karumathampatti, Coimbatore. It is one of the most famous temples in the area. An application has been sent to the Chief Minister's Department asking the government to restore the temple lands immediately.

Satish Kumar has lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister's private office demanding the recovery of land worth Rs. 85 crores. There are two temples in the Karumathampatti area of Coimbatore district, the Chenniyandavar Temple and the Kariyamanika Perumal Temple.

The land of these temples, which are under the control of the Department of Hindu Religious Affairs, is said to be under private occupation. Even after the complaint to the Department of Hindu Religious Affairs asking that the temples should be restored, they have put the complaint on hold without taking any action.

The value of the temple land alone is said to be around Rs 85 crore. Satish Kumar from Elachipalayam village near Karumathampatti has lodged a complaint with the Chief Minister's private unit demanding that the Tamil Nadu government take action to recover the two temple lands. In the complaint, he claimed that the land in these two temples was worth about Rs 85 crore and that the land which was under private occupation should be reclaimed. He has also sent the relevant documents to the Chief Minister's special team.
