MSMEs thank Chief Minister for covid relief that helped industry cope during the pandemic


Coimbatore: In a press release on behalf of Members of The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry it was said:

'We appreciate and thank the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for taking innovative efforts and strict guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID 19 and also for supporting the Trade and Industry by announcing relief measures for their survival. The COVID spread has come down to 50% in Coimbatore only because of the efforts of Tamil Nadu Government under the able administration of our Chief Minister.'

They also said

'On behalf of Trade and Industry, we welcome the following welfare measures.

i) Introducing various incentives and concession, capital subsidies to eligible MSMEs in the State anywhere in industrially backward areas and Agro-based enterprises set up in 385 blocks in the State and for Thrust sector enterprises set up anywhere in the State.

ii) Announcement for extending the period of renewal of approved licenses by MSMEs upto 31st December 2021, if they are due to expire on 1st May 2021 and 30th September 2021.

a) For the licenses of TNPCB under section 25 of The Water Act, 1974 and under section 21 The Air Act, 1981.

b) Renewal of certificate for use of Boilers, renewal of Factories License.

c) Renewal of License for Contractor for employing contractual workmen and interstate migration workmen.

d) Renewal of License for Dealers of Weights or Measures from Labour Department.

e) Renewal of Fire and Rescue services.

f) Renewal of License under Drugs and Cosmetics Act.

g) Renewal of Trade License etc.

This extension of time limit for License renewal for MSMEs will certainly help them to concentrate on their manufacturing activities during lockdown and post-lockdown period.

The Chief Minister considered the importance of MSMEs and announced these relief measures in order to support and provide with financial packages. We also welcome the announcement of the Government permitting all MSMEs involving enhancement of plant and machinery valve by at least 25% of the existing plant and machinery upto 31st December 2021 irrespective of the effective steps taken by the MSMEs to expand their enterprises. We once again thank the Chief Minister for these relief measures and we also pledge our unstinted cooperation to the State Government in all their Endeavours in the interest of Trade, Industry, and Common Man.'
