Congress party cadres protest in Coimbatore condemning BJP government for not controlling fuel price hike
Coimbatore: With petrol prices soaring to a record high of Rs.100 per litre, the Tamil Nadu Congress leader, K S Alagiri announced that protests would be held in front of petrol bunks all across Tamil Nadu to condemn the BJP government for not controlling fuel price hike.

The Coimbatore District Congress party protested on Avinashi Road, in front of the petrol bunk near Anna Statue.

In the protest led by the State Executive Chairman, Mayura Jayakumar, a two-wheeler was tied and slogans were raised by theCongress cadres.

Similarly, the Youth Congress too protested in front of a petrol bunk in Uppilipalayam, near the DSP's office. In the protest led by Hariharasudan, slogans were raised that petrol and diesel prices had risen 43 times just this year alone. This had led to unprecedeneted rise of prices of gas cylinders, household goods and essentials stated the Youth Congress cadres.
The Youth Congress accused the Central Government of failing to control such price hikes. Many members of the Congress party also took part in various protests across Coimbatore.
