Liquor smuggled in a car from Karnataka seized in Coimbatore
Coimbatore: Sulur police were conducting a vehicle inspection in Thennampalayam area near Sulur, Coimbatore.
The police then stopped and checked the car which was passing and found that there were bottles of Karnataka state liquor in a suitcase placed in the back of the car. The driver of the car was taken to the Sulur police station and interrogated by the police.
Following this, the police registered a case and the Sulur police are conducting a serious investigation into whether the liquor bottles were bought for sale from the state of Karnataka or for personal use. The value of the seized liquor bottles is estimated to be around Rs 30,000, police said.
