Minister of Rural Development Periyakaruppan inspects Covid-19 preventive measures in Tirupur
Coimbatore: The Minister of Rural Development, Periyakaruppan inspected the Covid-19 containment areas on Friday in Tirupur district. Following this, he attended a review meeting on Covid-19 preventive measures at the District Collector's Office.
Later, while addressing the media, the Minister of Rural Development said, 'This state has a responsibility to protect the people from Covid-19. We are doing this by reducing other tasks. Steps are being taken to make the necessary vaccines available to all people. With a daily impact of up to 37,000, it has now been limited to 17,000 due to the Government's efforts. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has been working directly in the field and not just giving orders from his office. In particular, the CM even visited the Covid treatment ward at the ESI Hospital in Coimbatore. It highlights his humanity. My hearty wishes to everyone involved in the fight against Covid, especially on the field. All the Ministers are working for the people. Currently, Covid is affecting people in rural areas beyond cities. This is why I travel to Coimbatore, Erode and Tirupur. Tamil Nadu will soon become a Covid free state,' he assured.

He said the Chief Minister has requested the Central Government to provide more vaccines and said steps are being taken to import vaccines from Western countries as well.
